The Nova Scotia Sea School

Sea School offers teenage youth ages 13 -21, single and multi-day outdoor recreational programs in sailing, sea kayaking, hiking, wilderness survival and boat building. Presently there is not an equivalent program that offers immersive experiential learning programs for youth, that focus on seamanship and advanced leadership, and that prioritizes diverse populations of youth. In our long history of program delivery, our participants represent a diverse cross section of society including vulnerable youth experiencing marginalization due to race, gender, poverty, homelessness, mental health challenges, disabilities and a variety of other intersections. It is important that we prioritize the most vulnerable youth to ensure they can participate in programs.
