We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Enterprise Asset Management team. As part of our dedicated team of professionals, you will play a crucial role in exceeding our customers' expectations by delivering reliable and cost-effective energy and services.
Key elements of this role include:
- Provide technical expertise on high voltage substation primary equipment such as transformers, switchgear, AC/DC station service supplies, reactive voltage support devices, etc.
- Identify test requirements and intervals for major electrical equipment in substations
- Review and evaluate results of substation electrical equipment testing
- Support the capital planning program with engineering expertise for new technologies, replacement of obsolete equipment, protection & control upgrades, etc.
- Assist during maintenance outages, unplanned outages, and troubleshooting electrical issues.
- Offer technical advice to substation field personnel as needed.
- Contribute to multi-year capital investment plans for electrical assets.
- Support capital project execution
- Be mentored by senior electrical engineers within the team.
- Provide training and guidance to Operations on electrical equipment and related procedures.

To thrive in this role, you recognize yourself in most of the following competencies and skills listed below:
- Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer in Nova Scotia.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in an engineering environment, field experience is an asset.
- Experience providing both remote and on-site technical support for field personnel carrying out maintenance or troubleshooting on substation equipment.
- Familiarity with substation equipment maintenance, electrical equipment refurbishment, insulation testing and diagnostic tools and techniques, medium and low voltage switchgear, and control systems is an asset.
- Proven track record of excellent safety performance.
- Experience working on projects that span multiple disciplines.
