We are expanding and looking to add a detail-oriented, tech-savvy Senior Accountant who thrives in a fast-paced, client-facing environment, is eager to work closely with senior leaders, and is passionate about continuous improvement within a collaborative, strategic advisory firm.
The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to support month-end close processes, reconciliations, reporting, and data integrity across multiple client engagements. In this role, you'll work directly with our Managers and CFOs to deliver timely, accurate financial reporting, contribute to system improvements, and support onboarding for new clients. You'll also play a key role in supporting and guiding junior team members, helping to ensure high-quality execution and continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver Accurate Financial Outcomes
- Prepare and deliver monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations for assigned clients
- Record and review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Support payroll accounting, HST filings, and intercompany reconciliations
2. Ensure System Integrity & Process Excellence
- Maintain detailed, clear and audit-ready working papers
- Ensure client adherence to accounting systems and processes (QBO, Xero, Dext, Plooto, Syft)
- Conduct data clean-up projects, support system implementations, and contribute to onboarding activities
- Embrace a continuous improvement mindset, proactively identify inefficiencies, challenging the status quo, and providing recommendations for better ways to work
3. Foster Collaboration & Client Service
- Work with Managers and CFOs to meet client deadlines and expectations
- Proactively identify discrepancies or potential issues and offer solutions
- Communicate clearly with internal teams and clients to ensure smooth execution
- Support internal quality control processes by preparing accurate documentation, anticipating questions, and ensuring deliverables are ready for presentation and discussion
What We're Looking For
Detail-Oriented and Organized: Strong ability to manage multiple clients and priorities efficiently
Technical Expertise: 3+ years of full-cycle accounting experience; CPA designation (or in progress) considered an asset
Cloud Accounting Proficiency: Experience with tools like Xero, QBO, Dext, Syft, and Plooto
Client-Focused: Commitment to delivering accurate, timely service with a strong sense of accountability
Growth-Oriented: Eager to take on more responsibility, contribute to improving internal processes, and advance professionally
Problem Solver: Able to work independently to find solutions and maintain high standards
What We Offer
Salary: Competitive range of $60,000 - $67,500, with clear paths for growth
Flexibility: Fully remote work with flexible hours (within Atlantic Canada time zone preferred)
