(Contractual position to December 12, 2025)

The Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) department of the Fisheries and Marine Institute of Memorial University of Newfoundland is seeking applications to fill one PC Consultant II position. The Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) department is responsible for providing information technology (IT) and information management (IM) support and protection to the Marine Institute community. The ICT department supports approximately 400 faculty and staff and 1,200 students for all their information technology and information management requirements including classroom technologies and communication services. The PC Consultant II position reports to the Client Services Coordinator within the ICT department of the Marine Institute.

DUTIES

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a high level of information technology and classroom teaching and learning support to the Marine Institute's community, including its faculty, staff, students and external partners. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring and updating work orders assigned through a Microsoft Service Manager help desk console. Typical work orders include desktop troubleshooting, new computer deployment/configuration, troubleshooting network connectivity issues, classroom audiovisual/technology support, software installations, hardware diagnostics, and other related duties as required. The person will be working in a team environment and is expected to collaborate with other ICT team members to provide the best overall IT/IM support possible to the Marine Institute community. ICT is a service department and its primary objective is to provide its clients with the best possible IT/IM support, when they need it.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience (1-2 years) in personal computing support; graduation with an undergraduate degree with significant coursework in computer science; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Experience working in a Microsoft desktop support environment and be familiar with the operations of Microsoft's System Center Configuration Manager suite of products. Strong communication skills with a focus on client support and satisfaction is required.

SALARY $58,948 to $66,592 per annum (NAPE Local 7850)
