TDS Finance – Wholesale FTP

BUSINESS/ DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The Wholesale FTP team within TDS Finance is responsible for managing the funds transfer pricing Liquidity Premium (LP) function for the Wholesale Bank. The principal objective of the Wholesale FTP function is to allocate FTP costs and benefits to TDS Business Lines based on external funding costs related to liquidity requirements, incentivize the right business behaviors within each TDS Business Line based on their overall strategic objectives, and ensure an accurate, transparent, and consistent framework for better strategic and tactical decision making within TDS.
INTERN RESPOSIBILITIES:
Projects/ Initiatives (Indicate the percentage of time dedicated for this – e.g., 80% AND the frequency i.e. monthly)
- Understand Wholesale bank funding structure and allocation methodology used to transfer price funding costs to individual businesses. Assist in strategic projects to implement methodology changes as needed. For example, the intern may be involved in assessing system logic to calculate accrual interest costs for funding products and derivatives. Capital markets knowledge or exposure is preferred.
- Assist in assessing and mitigating internal controls for End User Computing (EUCs) tools used in the Wholesale FTP framework. The intern will be involved in implementing best practices to ensure compliance with TD EUC standards and independent liquidity evaluation. For example, the associate may be involved in identifying governance gaps in reporting processes, change management protocols and ensuring sufficient second line of defense oversight, etc.
- Participate in annual planning and forecasting activities for investment banking and trading businesses in TD Securities.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and develop new data automation and streamlining capabilities to enhance operational efficiencies.

REQUIREMENTS (Indicate both requirements below)
Program requirements –
Math/CPA/CS/Financial Analysis and Risk Mgmt/any quantitative discipline is preferred
Previous work experience in finance or treasury is preferred
Technical / Soft skills requirements
Excel and Excel Macros (strongly preferred), data analysis
