The Wild Blueberry Producers Association of Nova Scotia (WBPANS) is seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead our organization. WBPANS was established in 1970, to promote wild blueberry production, consumption and research and ensure growers receive an adequate return to their management, labour and capital. The Association now has more than 600 members and wild blueberries are Nova Scotia's number one fruit in acreage, production and export value. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of WBPANS, anticipating challenges and opportunities, and preparing strategies to ensure that we are operating efficiently and effectively to meet our goals.

In this role, you will be the face of WBPANS, working closely with the Board of Directors, our members, industry partners, government officials, the media and the public. You will ensure that all WBPANS activities are aligned with the organization's mission, and that we are working together to successfully achieve strategic objectives. We are in search of an Executive Director who is a strong leader, an excellent communicator, a capable negotiator, a strategic thinker, adept at securing funding, who excels at forging and maintaining strong relationships, and has a solid grasp of business fundamentals.

The preferred candidate will ideally have a minimum of five years of senior management experience, a university degree, strategic planning and budgeting knowledge, with exceptional verbal and written communication skills. The projected start date would be early fall 2025.

The position offers some job flexibility with some weekend and evening commitments. Some travel to farms and events within Nova Scotia and across Canada and Maine may be required.
