Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro is offering an exciting summer employment opportunity for you to join our Hydro Generation team. Working in a creative, fast-paced environment, you'll be part of transforming the future of the province's energy sector.
Summer student placements are now open to new or returning students, as noted below.
Applications for either placement are only open to residents of the Bay D'Espoir area to be eligible (Conne River, Milltown to Head of Bay D'Espoir, Morrisville, St. Alban's , St. Joseph's, and St. Veronica's).
Each placement is for an eight-week duration commencing either May 12, 2025 or July 7, 2025. You will be asked to confirm your availability on your on-line application.
Applicants must be in good academic standing and meet the criteria noted below.
First consideration will be given to students who have not been previously employed as a summer student with Hydro.
You will be asked on your application to indicate if you're are a New or Returning Student, as noted below.
New Post-Secondary Students:
Open to applicants who are entering post-secondary program for the first time. Programs must be of a least nine-month duration. Please included the following in your application:
- A copy of your most recent high school report card (March/April);
- Confirmation of your application to a post-secondary program:
- A paragraph that outlines what Safety means to you;
If selected for a position:
- A letter/document from your post-secondary school that indicates you are accepted for school for the fall semester;
Returning Post-Secondary Students:
Open to applicants who have successfully completed full-time studies in the previous year and are returning to post-secondary program in the fall semester. Programs must be of a least nine-month duration. Please included the following in your application:
- A copy of your marks from the previous Fall & Winter semesters to be included with your application;
- A letter/document from your school that indicates you are eligible and returning to full-time post-secondary studies in the fall semester;
- A paragraph that outlines what Safety means to you;
