Purpose

The Senior Manager, Employee and Development Initiatives will be responsible for the strategy and delivery of the employee onboarding program and employee development programs for Scotia Global Asset Management in partnership with key stakeholders.

This role may also support other SGAM business initiatives under the direction of the Director, Business Initiatives.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Responsible for the delivery of the SGAM onboarding program, including the build and implementation of a people leader toolkit, onboarding website and getting started courses
  • Responsible for the strategy, design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of two distinct Learning and Development Programs - one aimed at the Director population, and one for the Senior Manager population
  • Chair and lead the Scotia GAM Onboarding Council on a monthly basis
  • Leads the strategy, design, implementation and maintenance of complex employee programs, provides input on learning program design, communications and evaluation plan
  • Aligns with the HRBP, Global Learning and Development COE, and other key stakeholders for the ongoing delivery and maintenance of Scotia Global Asset Management employee and development programs
  • Collaborates with HR Services to ensure successful execution of learning programs in accordance with established guidelines and standards
  • Develops metrics in conjunction with the Senior Manager HRBP, and Global Learning COE to assess the effectiveness and sustainability of learning programs, ensuring alignment with the Bank's strategy, overall business needs and requirements.
  • Maintains ongoing relationships with Business HR, COEs, or other groups to understand learning requirements and needs; proposes solutions to improve/enhance learning programs based on provided insights and analysis
  • Report progress on key initiatives and program outcomes to Scotia GAM leadership team
  • Champions and supports the promotion of available learning to employees and provides necessary information about learning events
  • Supports the design, preparation and delivery of educational aids and materials
  • Coordinates in-house training facilities and equipment
  • Assesses instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee skills and KPIs
  • Gathers feedback from trainers and trainees after each educational session
  • Analyzes leading trends and best practices on learning program management to identify improvement/enhancement opportunities, provides insights to Senior Manager, HRBP and HR Learning
  • Ensures data integrity and quality through in-depth analysis; reporting intake and project statistics to senior management
  • May also support other SGAM business initiatives and reporting as required
  • Understands how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Post-secondary Degree in Human Resources or Business or related field
  • Experience and knowledge of the business units within Scotia Global Asset Management is an asset
  • Previous experience in executing learning solutions
  • Knowledge of learning theories and learning practices
  • Strong understanding of Global Learning programs, policies, processes, and operations
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast paced environment
  • Strong project management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong analytical skills to review data and identify findings/create reports to summarize
  • Experience and knowledge of the asset management businesses within Scotia Global Asset is an asset
  • Attentive to details and deadlines; ability to manage multiple priorities
