Social Worker/LCT
Title: Social Worker/LCT
Location: Elsipogtog First Nation
Type of contract: Full-time term contract position until March 30th, 2026 and extended with the renewal of the provincial agreement.
Compensation: The salary offered will be based on experience and will follow the provincial salary scale for the incumbent's position.
Overview: Under the supervision of the Cultural Clinical Lead and the Coordinator, the incumbent will work with Elsipogtog students directly in the schools. As part of the Elsipogtog Youth Wellness Circle Team, the position responsibilities include offering culturally based support with mental health and behavioral concerns, addiction, academic and classroom support. The successful candidate will also provide individual intervention and group counseling/therapy.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in social work or equivalent competency to fulfill role of clinical interventionist. (LCT, OT, Behavioral Interventionist, etc.)
Member in good standing with the New-Brunswick Association of Social Workers and/or any other professional association related to their field of practice.
Skilled professional judgement and ability to solve problems and conflicts;
Ability to be well organized, to manage one's time and to set priorities;
Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
Excellent work history (performance and attendance);
Ability to speak Mi'kmaq is an asset
Experience working in a Mi'kmaw community
Experience working with indigenous and clinical staff in areas of child and youth mental
health.
Demonstrated skills in leadership, resource management and decision-making;
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
Criminal Record check and vulnerable sector check.
