About the Opportunity
The Digital Practices and Technology division is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join the Delivery Management team.
As the Senior Project Manager with the Delivery Management team, you will be:
- A subject matter expert in project management methodologies, experienced in managing agile projects.
- A champion for user needs working with program owners, provincial departments, and other levels of government and jurisdictions in the delivery of user-centered products and services.
- Part of a multi-disciplinary team working alongside product managers, business analysts, service designers, and software developers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage large, complex digital product and service delivery and/or solution implementation projects in partnership with product managers and program owners to meet user needs and program outcomes.
- Provide professional project management services supporting all phases of the project life cycle, and manage all aspects of project delivery including scope, cost, schedule, quality, risks, issues, resources, procurement, change management and contractual deliverables.
- Successfully deliver user-centered products and services on time and within agreed scope, budget, and quality, using Agile methodologies.
- Manage concurrent projects of varying size and scope, including associated outsourcing contracts.
Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in computer science plus five (5) years related experience; or graduation from a recognized Information Technology Program plus five (5) years and six (6) months related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be acceptable.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in the following:
- Extensive project management experience in leading and managing large, complex digital product/service delivery and/or solution implementation projects.
- Project management methodology (e.g., PMBOK).
- Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, SAFe).
- Software development methodology (e.g., SDLC), digital service design and delivery, and internet-era ways of working.
- Helping teams to manage outcomes, prioritize work, and work to agreed minimum viable product (MVP) scope.
- Managing several projects concurrently involving multi-disciplinary teams of various sizes.
- Motivating and managing diverse teams of both internal and external business and technical specialists.
- Superior interpersonal and team building skills with the ability to interact effectively and develop strong relationships with staff at all levels.
- Facilitation, negotiation, and acting as a liaison with large client and stakeholder teams, including executive and senior management teams, within and across partner organizations.
- Problem solving, analytical thinking and decision making, and managing complex and competing needs.
- Organizing workloads, multitasking, and adapting to ever changing priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong presentation skills.
We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.
Equivalency
An equivalent combination of related training and experience may be accepted in place of education requirement. Applicants relying on education and experience equivalencies must demonstrate such equivalencies in their application.

- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Masters Certificate in Project Management.
- Agile Project Management certification.
- Scrum/SAFe certification.
