Job Summary
The Site Clinical Manager is the on-site/on-call administrative manager accountable for the overall direction and coordination of clinical and human resource activities at the Carbonear General Hospital, Placentia Health Centre, Dr. Wm. Newhook Community Health Centre, Dr. A.A. Wilkinson Memorial Health Centre, The Lions Manor and The Private Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion, in Rural Avalon - Eastern Health.

The Site Clinical Manager is the only clinical manager for these sites after hours, and serves as the administrative decision maker representing the senior leadership of Eastern Health as directed. This position works with a great deal of independence and autonomy and has primary accountability for all administrative and operational aspects of these six sites after hours and provides direction, leadership, coordination, assessment, planning, organization and control of patient care at these sites. This position has a responsibility to participate in all safety and quality initiatives and to liaise, consult, and collaborate with all other clinical program leaders and designates within Eastern Health to ensure effective and efficient use of resources in meeting patient care needs.

Job Qualifications
Education
Bachelor Degree in a health related discipline is required.
Master's Degree preferred.

Experience
A minimum of five (5) years of acute care clinical experience within the last seven (7), supplemented with recent management experience.
Progressive leadership experience preferred.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Knowledge of quality improvement principles, human resource management, utilization management principles, discharge planning and the ability to determine the needs of patients.
Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Demonstrated leadership, decision making and problem solving skills.

Other
Current registration with a professional association is required.
A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
