Responsabilités

What you will be doing…

  • The Application Developer is responsible for ensuring the College's applications, and related systems, are designed and built to meet development and production standards for performance, reliability and maintainability. This will involve collaborating with external technical partners and internal teams to provide leadership in designing and building applications and integrated systems.
  • The Application Developer will focus on maintaining existing systems and developing new functionality for content management systems and standalone applications integrated with other enterprise-level College systems.
Qualifications

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is a diploma or degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • You have a minimum of three years of recent and related occupational experience
  • You have specific technical occupational knowledge and skill in the following:
    • Net Framework 4.8 (C#)
    • ASP.NET
    • MVC 5
    • Web API
    • Entity Framework 6
    • JavaScript (jQuery/AJAX/JSON/Handlebars)
    • Database design and implementation (Microsoft SQL Server)
    • Testing and Logging frameworks (MS, NLog)
    • GIT version control
    • Web services (SOAP, REST)
  • Optional competencies/skills:
    • CSS/HTML 5.
    • Responsive template development.
    • User-centered design.
    • Microsoft 365
    • Cascade CMS 8
    • Telerik ToolSuite
    • Power BI
  • You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as Microsoft SQL Server (including writing stored procedures and functions), Microsoft Office Suite, and E-mail.
  • You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology in advancing your work.
  • Experience in training/facilitation preparation, delivery, and evaluation would be considered an asset.
  • Experience supporting/providing service to students and prospective students would be considered an asset.
  • You understand N-Tier design.
  • You have a strong depth of understanding of the software development lifecycle and experience working in an environment that uses project management methodologies.
  • As a resourceful self-starter, you are disciplined in your approach to task management, are highly organized, and can demonstrate strong initiative to learn and bring tasks to their conclusion in a timely manner.
  • You have superb communication and client service skills and are committed to excellence.
  • Previous experience working in a post-secondary environment is a definite asset.
