The Director will be responsible for Professional Practice including the governance (Professional Practice Model) and professional integrity of licensed Allied Health staff and will maintain effective professional practice and inclusion across the zones. The Director will oversee system-wide initiatives and programming; monitor performance; make informed decisions about services; and plan, implement and evaluate quality, safety and operational objectives for the portfolio. The Director will foster an atmosphere that promotes inclusion, physical and psychological health and safety, and ensure compliance with evidence-based best practice, clinical guidelines, Accreditation Canada and relevant regulatory standards.
The Director will work with and provide direction to the Allied Health Professional Practice Consultants throughout NLHS to monitor and enhance practice and collaborate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to deliver service, including senior management and executive colleagues within NLHS, educational institutions, regulatory and licensing bodies, industry partners, staff, and community agencies and partners. The Director will consult widely with stakeholders regarding the utilization of human resources across all programs and services within the zones, taking into account regulatory requirements, supply, turnover, skill mix, clinical trends and evidence-based best practices. The Director will also oversee workforce planning, recruitment, supervision and performance of staff; manage operating and capital budgets; develop and implement new initiatives, program proposals and business cases to address gaps in service and capitalize on opportunities; and collaborate with stakeholders on planning, programming, incident reviews, workplace safety, communication and new initiatives.
Qualifications:
Education
A Bachelor’s Degree in a Licensed Allied Health profession is required.
A Master’s Degree in a health related filed is required
LEAN Apprentice Training/yellow belt
Experience
Minimum of five years recent progressive leadership and management experience in a healthcare environment is required, including managing people, budgets and processes, as well as leading effective strategic change management initiatives.
Experience in clinical practice in healthcare services is required.
Considerable experience in program planning and evaluation, managing projects of a complex nature, and leading quality initiatives is required.
