The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Senior Analyst, Enterprise Risk Management to join our Enterprise Risk Management team in Toronto.
This is a permanent position located in Toronto.
As a Senior Analyst Enterprise Risk Management, you will support the Base Metals risk leader and engages with corporate and operations management and functional leaders to monitor, assess and report on the status of the company's enterprise-wide risk portfolio including operations, geotechnical, strategic, sustainability, financial, cyber, and compliance-based risks. Your experience and skill will allow you in the implementation of pragmatic and effective processes for identifying, managing, mitigating and transferring risks across the business.
Additionally, in this position you will:
- Assumes the role of risk expert and champion for the business and enables the business to better understand its enterprise-wide risk profile.
- Support the Head, ERM in the consolidation and communication enterprise-wide risk information to C-level, Board of Directors and respective Committees, supporting planning, decision-making, governance and compliance.
- Provide risk management support to operations and functions to identify, treat, and track actions and progress to mitigate material risks to the business and business objectives.
- Liaise and support the Insurance team in managing risks associated with property damage and operational interruption. Also liaises with other areas (i.e.: FP&A, IBP, Market Risk, etc.) in running statical analysis to support production plans and budget processes.
- Supports the Head, ERM with tasks associated with the coordination of the Executive Risk Committee and designs and leads tabletop and mock crisis management exercises.
About You
Education:
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Risk Management, Engineering or related field.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience managing risk in the mining, extractive, heavy or capital-intensive industries.
Skills:
- Understanding of risk management across operational and non-operational functions including; qualitative and quantitative risk assessment techniques in health, safety, environment, social performance and financial areas.
- Strong leadership, facilitation and interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and influence key stakeholders.
- Pragmatic problem-solver with appreciation for systems-based approaches.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically and make sound recommendations in a dynamic business environment.
