Job Title: Service Technician
Location: Moncton, NB
Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00am- 5:00pm
Wage: $20.00/hour
Our client is looking for a Service Technician to join their team permanently. As a Service Technician, you will be required to perform duties of maintenance, inspections and repairs on fire alarms, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting systems and other life safety systems as required. You must be willing to travel throughout the Maritimes, including occasional overnight trips.
Job Responsibilities:
* Install, inspect, maintain, and repair various fire protection systems, including sprinklers, alarms, fire extinguishers, and emergency lighting.
* Conduct regular testing and troubleshooting to ensure compliance with fire safety codes and regulations.
* Perform system verifications, ensuring all components are functioning correctly.
* Complete and document detailed service reports, including identifying issues, providing solutions, and recording work performed.
* Respond to emergency service calls in a timely manner.
* Assist with system modifications or upgrades as needed, including both design and installation support.
* Maintain inventory of equipment and materials used in service work.
* Adhere to all safety protocols, company policies, and industry standards during all tasks.
* Participate in ongoing training to stay current on fire protection technologies and code changes.
* Provide excellent customer service by clearly communicating with clients, addressing concerns, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Mechanically inclined with a strong aptitude for troubleshooting
* Previous experience using both hand and power tools
* Basic computer skills
* Good customer experience/service skills
* Bilingualism is preferred
* Willingness to provide a criminal record check
* Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record
* Ability and willingness to travel across the Maritimes, including occasional overnight trips of up to 3 nights
Physical Requirements:
* Ability to lift and carry equipment and tools weighing up to 50 lbs.
* Ability to work in various environments, including tight spaces and elevated areas
