UNB's Centre for Learning Futures supports innovative and transformative academic, professional and personal teaching and learning opportunities across a variety of modalities. The Centre for Learning Futures, a new unit is home to UNB Online/College of Extended Learning, which includes academic, professional and executive education, Teaching and Transformative Learning, Experiential Education, English Language programming as well as the Centre for Musical Arts and the Art Centre.

Salary Range: $23.48 - $27.26 per hour

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to Supervisor of Client Services, the Client Services Representative (Secretary PL4) acts as the first point of contact for clients and other members of the public and University community for all units housed under the Learning Futures umbrella. The primary responsibility of the position is to provide clients with accurate information, answer questions and assist with registration and fee payment services for the wide variety of programs, services and courses offered. On a weekly basis, the incumbent handles hundreds of client interactions (providing information, course registration and fee payments) in person, by phone and electronically.

  • Provide customer service to students and other members of the public and university community in a professional, courteous, and confidential manner.
  • Provide personalized, timely, and accurate responses on a wide variety of programs and course offerings.
  • Carry out financial transactions, such as payment of fees, with a high degree of accuracy and responsibility.
  • Reconcile payments daily and/or student balances.
  • Provide accurate data input to the student systems for registration and record updates.
  • Carry out regular filing duties for college filing system.
  • Provide administrative support services for CEL staff as required and approved by supervisor.
  • Operate all standard office equipment.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 2-year Business Administration Diploma.
  • 3+ years' related experience in a client service environment.
  • Equivalent combination of training and experience would be considered.

Additional Strengths

  • A university degree in related field is considered an asset.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
  • Experience with Colleague platform would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles considered an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrating discretion, tact, and judgment, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrated strong customer service skills and orientation.
  • Well-organized, able to handle many tasks at once, and work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Bilingual English and French would be considered an asset.
