MAINTENANCE REPAIRPERSON (BAND LEVEL 6)

(Three Year Contractual Position)
DUTIES
The successful applicant will perform skilled work in the troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of a variety of mechanical equipment and machinery within the all St. John's campuses of Memorial University. Duties include responding to routine and emergency calls on a variety of mechanical equipment; inspecting and troubleshooting a variety of mechanical equipment including maintaining heating and ventilation systems including exhaust fans and fume hoods, diesel generators, compressors and pumps; maintaining air conditioning equipment; performing winter lay up and spring activation of large chilled water systems; checking fuel tank levels; maintaining compressed air systems, domestic hot water systems and propane systems; carrying out minor new installations; and performing other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience (1-3 years) as a mechanical repairperson including some experience (up to 1 year) in performing building maintenance and repair tasks; graduation from high school supplemented by the successful completion of a mechanical trade (Millwright or Power Engineer 4th Class). Possession of a valid trades certificate, a driver's licence and driver's abstract, as issued by the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador are required.
SALARY $32.09 - $36.95 per hour (NAPE Local 7801)
