The Canada Games Aquatic Centre (CGAC), a premier aquatic and fitness facility in the heart of Saint
John, New Brunswick, is seeking a dynamic and visionary General Manager (GM) to lead the organization
through its next chapter of growth and community impact.

About Us
The CGAC has been a cornerstone of sport, wellness, and community engagement since its opening in
1985 for the Canada Summer Games. With a wide range of aquatic, fitness, and recreational programs,
the CGAC serves athletes, families, and individuals of all ages and abilities. As a not-for-profit
organization, we are committed to fostering health, inclusion, and excellence.

Position Summary
The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and management of
the facility, programs, staff, and partnerships. Reporting to the Saint John Aquatic Center Commission,
the GM ensures operational excellence, financial sustainability, community engagement, and alignment
with the CGAC's mission and vision.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate integrity, good judgment, and confidentiality and discretion in all
aspects of leadership. Strong oral and written communication skills, paired with analytical and strategic
thinking, are essential for success in this role. The GM must exhibit initiative, effective decision-making
abilities, and proven conflict resolution skills. A servant leadership approach that emphasizes mentoring,
empowerment, and team development is vital. The successful candidate will bring a clear understanding
of the CGAC's mission and operations and a passion for advancing the Centre's impact in the community.

  • Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to oversee key aspects of the Canada Games Aquatic Centre's involvement in the 2029 Canada Summer Games, ensuring readiness and excellence for this high-profile event.
