The opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients across various sectors, most notably the energy and industrials sector, as well as aviation, healthcare, government and public services, among others. You will leverage your consulting expertise to drive strategic initiatives, enhance operational efficiencies, and support our clients in navigating complex business problems. Your contributions will be pivotal in shaping innovative solutions that create long-term value for our clients and their stakeholders.
As a Senior Consultant working in Calgary, you will collaborate with your fellow team members to help our clients solve some of the most challenging problems facing their businesses. Your actions will cover key competencies such as market research, strategy development, industry trends analysis, business case development, current-state assessment and stakeholder engagement.
Your key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clients to understand their strategic objectives and provide insights that inform decision-making and drive business transformation initiatives.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of current organizational structures, processes, and technologies to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
- Facilitate workshops and stakeholder interviews to gather insights, validate findings, and co-create solutions that align with client needs.
- Develop detailed project deliverables, including strategic roadmaps, operating models, and implementation plans that guide clients through their transformation journeys.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in executing project tasks, ensuring high-quality deliverables are met on time and within budget.
- Utilize data analysis and market research to support the development of business cases and strategic recommendations.
- Support business development activities, including proposal and statement of work (SOW) development.
- Participate in internal firm-wide activities, such as recruitment, development of point-of-view articles, and continuous improvement activities.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring their needs are met throughout the engagement process.
- Help develop and provide feedback to more junior team members, sharing your experience and guiding them in their roles as Consultants.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to provide clients with innovative solutions that enhance their competitive advantage.
To qualify for the role you must have:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is considered an asset.
- Minimum 4-6 years of experience in business or management consulting, with a proven track record in business transformation, strategy development, or a related field, with at least 2 years experience in a client-facing role.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information and present it in a clear and actionable manner.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience with workshops and facilitating discussions to drive consensus and alignment among diverse groups.
- A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively within a team and take direction and feedback constructively.
- Must be located in Calgary, Alberta.
Ideally, you'll also have:
- Experience in the energy and industrials sector supported by a strong understanding of industry norms and trends.
- Familiarity with change management principles and practices, including stakeholder engagement and communication strategies.
- Knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies to support evidence-based decision-making.
- A passion for innovation and a proactive approach to identifying and solving complex problems.
