Bay Side Home is a licensed long term care facility, located at 96 Bayside Drive in Barrington, which is home to Sixty-Two Residents.

We have a CASUAL Maintenance position available, located at Bay Side Home in Barrington, Nova Scotia.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Director of Facility Services, Maintenance is responsible for performing a variety of routine building operations and maintenance functions with a focus on the care and well-being of each resident. You work collaboratively with residents, their families and the Bay Side Home team to provide "Care at its Best".

In this role, you will:

• Perform repairs and maintenance to the interior and exterior of the home including minor repairs to equipment and routine maintenance to Resident rooms and common areas.
• Grounds Maintenance including mowing lawns, trimming shrubs, shoveling snow, etc.
• Perform preventative maintenance throughout the building as per schedule provided by the Director of Facility Services.
• Perform waste management and disposal duties for the Home.
• Service to Residents including transport of resident furniture and belongings; transport of residents to and from appointments, work, outings, etc.; Assistance with setup and participation in group and household activities and events as required.

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 required or equivalent
• Experience in general maintenance or a trade would be considered an asset
• WHIMIS and First Aid
• Class 4 license or willingness to obtain
• Experience providing resident-centered care and willingness to embrace a person driven culture
• Experience in Long Term Care setting is considered an asset
• Criminal Records Background Check will be required
