Position Overview:

The General Warehouse Associate for Quality Assurance is responsible for providing effective analytics and support to enhance the day to day operation of the NMDC and ensure quality and accuracy is achieved. The GWA-QA will collaborate with the NMDC OM to develop operational cascade the DFC's vision, mission, and operational strategies to ensure the achievement of all key performance objectives. The GWA-QA will ensure products meet established quality standards. They will monitor processes and inspect goods and services. They will propose measures and process improvements to enhance operations, ensure reliability of systems, and minimize downtime, errors, and defects.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Review Vendor non-compliance for inbound receipts - data generation, escalating for support.
  • Barcoding, packaging, pack size issues, damages, claims, over/under shipping, appointment.
  • Helping to barcode product when possible.
  • Validating receiving errors as they arise and working with merch ops team and vendors to minimize future occurrences.
  • Spot check putaways from prior days receipts for accuracy and pro.
  • Data governance.
  • Review DIMs, weight, descriptions for accuracy and report back discrepancies to merchandising team for review and resolution.
  • Build out audit program for outbound order processing and report back.
  • Identifying multi carton opportunities and ensuring pick requirements directions are added to the area.
  • Collaborate with AC's and NMDC planning team regularly.
  • Slotting, checking why some receipts are going to areas that don't make sense.
  • Providing data for location consolidation.
  • Inventory investigations and ability to perform cycle counts.
  • Shipping error file review and follow up.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Knowledge of PowerPoint and working knowledge of Access and Project Management an asset.

Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
  • Reports to the NMDC Operations Manager (OM).

Travel Requirements:
  • Available to travel to stores and vendors occasionally as needed

Physical Requirements:
  • Walking, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items
  • Able to move and/or lift up to 50 pounds

Hybrid Work:
  • Dependent

Working Conditions:
  • Working a set schedule.
  • Warehouse environment that can be dusty and noisy.
  • Passing forklifts emit gas fumes.
  • Doors are frequently open, causing drafts and interior temperature changes

Minimum Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Minimum Years of Work Experience:
  • Must meet minimum time-in-position (1 year) and be in good standing in current role
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a GWA in a distribution operation with experience in inventory control, quality assurance or equivalent

Certifications:
  • NA

Other Requirements/Assets:
  • PLog or CITT designation considered an asset.
  • MHE certification for Order Picker, High Reach and Electric Pallet Jack required.
  • Experience with SAP ERP or SAP eWMS.
