We are accepting applications for full-time seasonal Recreation Program Leaders for our 2025 summer season. The successful candidates will be part of the team that leads inclusive recreation programming for a variety of age groups in communities around East Hants.

What we can offer: The opportunity to work in collaboration with the Summer Program Supervisor to lead fun, inclusive and active programming for youth. Responsibilities include supervision of all activities, ensuring effective communication with caregivers and participants, daily opening and closing of facilities, managing administrative tasks such as safety checks and daily reports and ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants.

Position Start Date: June 30, 2025 (training days may take place prior to start)

Position End Date: August 22, 2025 (earliest, end dates may vary depending on location)

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, 40 hours p/week

Hourly rate: $17.00 p/hr

What you can offer:

· Interest and experience working with children and youth in a recreation setting preferred

· Experience working with individuals requiring inclusion support, an asset.

· Dependability and the capacity to work in an empowered, collaborative team environment with minimal direct supervision

· Ability to champion an environment of inclusion and belonging

· Basic Workplace First Aid with CPR C/AED certification an asset, willingness to obtain required

· Ability and willingness to travel to camp locations within East Hants

· Clear vulnerable sector and child abuse registry checks required prior to date of hire

· Preference will be given to candidates interested in or pursuing studies in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation, Child and Youth Studies, Psychology, Education, Social Work and/or training in a related field

Multiple Positions available for various locations, including Mount Uniacke and the Corridor/Hants North areas. Please note any preference for location in your application.
