OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Architect to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and implementing enterprise system architectures that align with industry best practices while considering organizational needs and constraints. This role involves strategic planning, collaboration with senior leadership, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
This opportunity is open to both full-time salaried employees and independent contractors.
WHAT YOU LL BE DOING IN THE ROLE:
- Develop and maintain the technical architecture for enterprise systems within a utility organization.
- Create detailed design documents and architecture blueprints that align with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Recommend technology investments and system upgrades to optimize business performance.
- Ensure architectural solutions align with business objectives and IT strategy.
- Work closely with senior leadership to align technical strategies with organizational priorities.
- Collaborate with the Enterprise Architecture team to deliver integrated and scalable solutions.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing systems and propose innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
- Develop and maintain enterprise architecture frameworks that support long-term strategic goals.
- Contribute to strategic planning and roadmaps to align technology initiatives with business objectives.
- Evaluate emerging technologies in collaboration with the Business Architect to assess their impact and recommend appropriate actions.
- Ensure all technical solutions adhere to industry standards, security protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop risk management strategies and contingency plans to address potential challenges.
WHAT SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS YOU LL NEED TO DO THE JOB:
- Proven experience as a Technical Architect in enterprise environments.
- Strong expertise in developing enterprise architecture frameworks and IT governance.
- Experience working in public sector, utility organizations or similar industries is an asset.
- Proficiency in modern technology stacks, cloud computing, and infrastructure planning.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence decision-making at senior levels.
