Responsabilités

What you will be doing…

  • The Web Developer assists in the maintenance, development and design of NSCC websites and digital applications. This includes working as part of a multidisciplinary team to proactively troubleshoot and resolve issues and perform day-to-day administration of NSCC's websites.
  • You will work with senior developers, UX specialists and analysts to identify, prioritize and implement updates and enhancements to meet client or end user needs. This will include assisting in creating and maintaining functional and user-friendly interfaces, integrating HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and web scripting language(s) within a Content Management System. You will also troubleshoot, debug, maintain, and deploy fixes for issues with current codebases as they arise. And, you'll write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and standards.
Qualifications

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is a College Diploma in Web Programming or university degree in Computer Science. A combination of education and occupational experience would be considered.
  • You have a minimum of one year (full time equivalent) of recent and related occupational experience in supporting web development.
  • You have specific and demonstrated experience in:
    • Writing and maintaining front-end web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Velocity, etc.)
    • Building for responsive design, cross browser support, and using version control/GIT
    • Supporting development of web applications using .Net Framework would be considered an asset
  • Experience supporting development of relational databases using SQL Server would be considered an asset, as would experience developing in a Windows Server environment, including server configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication, problem solving, troubleshooting, and collaboration skills are required along with the ability to use of a variety of web development languages.
  • Flexibility to engage in scheduled on-call duties on a rotating basis is a key requirement for this role.

  • You are familiar with web standards, web accessibility and UI/UX best practices.

  • You have solid critical-thinking, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
