We are recruiting for a Municipal Compliance Officer to join our team.

The Municipal Compliance Officer provides education and advice to residents, businesses, and partners on compliance matters, investigates and substantiates complaints, and resolves dangerous and unsightly premises violations, land use bylaw violations, parking violations, community standards violations, and other municipal bylaws.

What you can offer:

  • You have a Certificate or Diploma in Law & Security or related combination of education and experience, and you are eligible for appointment as a Special Constable.
  • You have three (3) years of related experience, preferably in a community-focused environment.
  • You are a great relationship builder, and can effectively build trust in order to collaborate with your team, community partners, and the public.
  • You are customer-service focused, approachable, respectful, and responsive to inquiries or concerns related to compliance matters.
  • You have the ability to assess situations, identify potential compliance issues, analyze evidence, and make informed, fair, and impartial decisions on enforcement or corrective actions.
  • You have the ability to de-escalate tense situations, negotiate solutions, and maintain a professional and calm demeanor when faced with difficult situations.
  • You are able to work a varied schedule, with some compliance activities occurring in the evenings or on weekends as needed.
  • You have a valid Driver's License, and are able to drive on a regular basis in order to conduct investigations or investigations.
  • You have a solid understanding of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging in a customer service-focused environment.

Annual salary: $56,971- $71,214
