Job Title: ILMI Surveyor/Administrative Assistant - Temporary up to Friday, March 27, 2026

Location: To be determined based on the location of the successful applicant. Options are as follows: Corner Brook, Gander, GFW, St. George's and Stephenville, NL

Hours of Work: 35 hours per week

Salary: $35,000./per annum

Job Description:

The ILMI Surveyor will conduct surveys to collect community-level data of members of Qalipu First Nation. The data collected will be used to develop a database, which will include a skills inventory of the working age population (15+) and labour market information. The surveys will focus on current and previous employment situations, education, and skills levels of community members. This database will assist Qalipu First Nation in the development and implementation of future projects for the advancement of its members. ILMI surveyors will maintain the integrity of the project by ensuring the confidentiality of all collected data. With the expansion of the ILMI Project, surveyors will be surveying employers to help us further understand the labour market.

Responsibilities:

· Recruit, schedule and conduct interviews with members and employers of Qalipu First Nation;

· Attend community engagements, events, and other opportunities to advertise surveys when required;

· Follow computer-assisted and/or paper interview guides;

· Record answers on a paper or directly into the computer database;

· Coordinate the distribution of a high volume of gift cards to recipients via postal mail;

· Maintain accurate records of recipients of all mailed items;

· Ensure data collected is kept confidential and secure;

· Sort incoming inquiries, faxes and requisites;

· Prepare and send outgoing faxes, mail, and courier parcels;

· Provide secretarial and administrative support;

· Make travel, meeting and other arrangements for staff to attend community events; and,

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:

· The preferred candidate will have a post-secondary education degree or diploma in a related discipline such as Information Technology, Business Administration, Office Administration, and/or Community Studies. A combination of relevant work experience and education will also be considered.

Experience:

· Strong organization and time management skills related to communications, gathering, and filing information, scheduling, and routine office work

· Excellent communication skills

· Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as required

· Working knowledge of Microsoft computer software programs

· Excellent interpersonal skills

· Discretion and emphasis on protecting the confidentiality of all information collected

Working Conditions:

This position is office based with duties predominantly met during regular business hours. Flexibility of work schedule may be required where circumstances permit.

Full-time Term Employee Benefits:

Annual Leave: FT employees - Three weeks per year.

Statutory and Non-Statutory Holidays: Employees are entitled to 13 days off to cover Statutory and Non-statutory holidays per year.

Summer Office Hours: Office hours during the summer months are from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Thursday, Friday 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. The schedule starts the first long weekend in May and continues until the last week of September.

Christmas Break: the office closes down during the Christmas break; this is an added bonus that employees are entitled to.

FT Sick and Family Medical: Full Time Employees are entitled to 12 paid sick/family medical days per year.

Under 2 hours Medical Appointment: Employees may attend an appointment of less than 2 hours with no deductions to Sick and Family Medical.

Discretionary Bereavement: One day off per year for the death of a relative not included as immediate family, a close friend or neighbour.

Volunteer Program: Employees may volunteer outside of the organization up to 21 hours per year.

Training:

The successful applicant must be able to participate in the required training necessary for the success of this project.
