The opportunity
We are seeking a talented Detection Engineer to join our team and help us enhance our threat detection capabilities.
The Detection Engineer will be responsible for creating and maintaining threat detection content, including signatures, rules, and indicators of compromise (IOCs).
This role requires a deep understanding of cyber threats, attack techniques, and detection methodologies. The ideal candidate will have experience in threat intelligence and a passion for staying ahead of emerging threats.
Your key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain threat detection content, including signatures, rules, and IOCs.
- Analyze and interpret threat intelligence data to identify new and emerging threats.
- Collaborate with threat intelligence and incident response teams to enhance detection capabilities.
- Test and validate threat detection content to ensure accuracy and effectiveness.
- Stay up to date with the latest cyber threats, attack techniques, and detection technologies.
- Provide expertise and guidance on threat detection strategies and best practices.
- Prepare and present reports on threat detection content and effectiveness to senior management.
To qualify for the role you must have:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in threat intelligence, threat hunting, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of cyber threats, attack techniques, and detection methodologies.
- Experience with security technologies, such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and EDR.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant certifications, such as GCTI, GCIA, or GCIH, are preferred..
