Position Title: Nursing Educator (IEN Program)
Position Type: Part-time (0.5 position) for 6 months with possibility of extension
Location: Grand Falls (2 positions), Corner Brook (2 positions)
Anticipated start: March 31, 2025
The Role:
On behalf of our client, Keyin College, we are seeking proactive and detail-oriented Nursing Educators to join the Internationally Educated Nurse (IEN) Program. This position will focus on enhancing clinical skill development through hands-on lab practice and supervised clinical placements. The ideal candidate(s) will have experience in mentorship and clinical skill development, combining their clinical expertise with a passion for training and mentoring nursing professionals.
What you will be doing:
- Providing clinical instruction, supporting, and guidance to nurses through clinical skill development in a lab setting, utilizing various teaching methods and tools, including simulations and interactions with standardized patients.
- Working closely with clinical placement coordinators to ensure that students are successfully placed in appropriate clinical settings that align with their training needs and program requirements.
- Coordinating and managing the rotational clinical training process, ensuring that students receive high-quality clinical exposure and support during their placements.
- Collaborating with faculty and clinical staff, monitoring participant performance, addressing areas of improvement, and providing individualized feedback to enhance clinical competencies.
- Leading simulation-based learning experiences to strengthen participants clinical judgment, decision-making, and patient care skills.
- Maintaining accurate records of participants progress and clinical hours, providing reports to program administrators as needed.
- Fostering a supportive and collaborative learning environment that encourages critical thinking, professional development, and confidence in nursing practice.
- Assisting with other educational responsibilities as required, including the development and review of curriculum content related to clinical skills training.
What you will bring:
- Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing would be considered an asset
- Minimum of Five (5) years clinical experience in acute care, medical, or surgical nursing experience.
- Current BLS certification for health care providers from the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
- Demonstrated;

- commitment to personal continuing education,
- ability to work with computers including the Meditech system,

- ability to prepare and present educational material in an effective, concise manner,
- ability to develop comprehensive learning needs assessment of participants and develop objectives based on results,
- knowledge of current nursing research and practice standards.
- A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
- A satisfactory certificate of conduct with vulnerable sector check from the local police authority.
- Previous experience in nursing education, clinical instruction, or training is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse groups of learners, including internationally educated nurses.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with clinical simulation and standardized patient programs is an asset.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
