Demands, duties, qualifications

Job Summary

The Manager leads the Eastern Zone Revenue and Collections division within a large, complex, and diverse health care organization which delivers services across the full continuum of health care and at multi-sites. The Manager, as part of the Financial Services management team, is accountable for providing leadership, vision and direction to the division which encompasses billing, funds receipting, recording and collection of outstanding accounts. The Manager is also responsible for financial reporting and financial controls and is responsible for the delivery of quality financial services to all Eastern Zone areas and related entities.

Job Qualifications

Education
Bachelor of Commerce or Business Administration Degree is required.
Master's degree would be an asset.
Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) Designation as well as a member in good standing with the Certified Professional Accountants Association of Newfoundland and Labrador is required.

ExperienceA minimum of five (5) years' experience in the last seven (7) years managing revenue and collections in a large complex organization is required.

Progressive leadership is required.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)Knowledge of relevant legislation, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and best practices.
Knowledge of project management systems and practices.
Expertise and knowledge of current financial services practices, broad knowledge of systems, internal controls, and client service requirements.
Demonstrated strong interpersonal and organization skills.
Ability to function independently and effectively in a high pressured, diverse, and changing environment.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and interact with senior managers and other leaders.
Demonstrated excellent communication and change management skills will be required to support the integration of NL Health Services' Financial Services department.
Demonstrated time management, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to function in a high pressure, diverse and changing environment.
