The Opportunity We are currently seeking a Supervisor, Services to join our team in the Learning & Development Department based in Sudbury, Ontario. This is a permanent position, working Monday to Thursday - dayshifts.As a Supervisor, Services you will lead and manage activities of Learning & Development instructors and peer trainers to maintain training delivery, manage and maintain training records, help develop and maintain training material, lead achievement of and reporting of technical training KPIs, to meet the needs of the business and the Learning & Development department. You will take ownership of your portfolio and possess strong data analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.Additionally, in this position you will:
- Build relationships with the client area to translate business needs into training needs while becoming a business ally.
- Lead the rollout of Learning & Development programs and initiatives to the business, providing credible support for immediate and future training needs.
- Oversee instructors' activities, ensuring compliance with regulations (MLTSD), standardization, professionalism, and mentoring as needed.
- Manage peer training to maintain quality, ensure adherence to health and safety best practices, and oversee the effective handoff between peer training and Learning & Development instructors, including the sign-off of qualified trainees.
- Conduct Shift Line-up for Learning & Development Instructors to provide health and safety oversight, review pertinent information, assess hazards, and ensure equipment and area availability for training.
- Lead the integration process of new employees from orientation to site induction training and workplace integration, including going underground when required.
About You Education:
- Grade 12 completed or GED equivalent is required.
- A College Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mine Engineering or a relevant discipline is preferred.
- Basic Underground Hard Rock Mining Common Core (770010) is required.
- Common Core for First Line Underground Mine Supervisor-Underground Hard Rock Mining (770121) is considered an asset.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a related field.
- Learning & Development leadership experience with strong business and data analytics acumen is considered an asset.
- Experience in a mining plant or heavy industry is an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, SAP, and Prometheus add-on.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and work well with others in a team environment.
- Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
- Must be obsessed with safety and risk.
- Must demonstrate open and transparent dialogue in all aspects of work.
