ABOUT THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY
Black & McDonald's New Brunswick Service team is growing! If you are independent, enthusiastic and driven professional searching for an opportunity to build a solid foundation for your career, this position is for you. This position reports directly to the Project Engineering Team Lead for New Brunswick, and will be working within the Service group located at 1350 Aviation Avenue, Dieppe NB.

As a Project Sales Coordinator, you will primarily be focused around supporting the existing service project sales team through project management, safety & quality assurance activities, document creation & management, estimating & sales assistance. As a member of the Service Sales Team, you will also help work with our clients to finds solutions that achieve their business objectives and assist in the development of long term client relationships with Black & McDonald. This position involves:

  • Working on a full range of mechanical service projects opportunities including: Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, Building Automation Controls, Gas/Propane and Oil work in the commercial, retail, manufacturing and institutional markets.
  • Maintaining and enhancing client relationships through ongoing business development.
  • Prepare estimates for our various service offerings, design and develop custom solutions adapted to our customers' needs.
  • Supporting our service group and maintaining strong communications with the technicians in the field.
  • Arranging for the purchasing of materials as well as assist in the scheduling, planning and implementation of secured projects.
  • Consulting and communicating with our business partners: suppliers, sub-contractors, utilities and inspectors.
  • Possessing a desire for continued personal and professional development.
  • Ensure sold projects are delivered & executed safely, to quality standards and in a timely manner while keeping within scope and budget
  • Schedule & coordinate project work, required resources, internally (peers, operations, manpower, field technicians, etc.) & externally (clients, suppliers, sub-contractors, consultants, authorities, etc.)
  • Assist with/perform requisition of purchase orders, invoicing, insurance certificates, other authority requirements, etc.
  • Assemble safety boards, assist with safety plans & monitoring of related activity
  • Preparation & management of related documentation - sales, execution schedules, project close-out (technical, financial/admin), equipment list updates, drawings/layouts, etc.
  • Review & approve vendor & supplier invoices for accuracy and timely payment approvals
  • Photo documentation & management
  • Analyse available information & data to help prepare client partnership & improvement strategies - help identify gaps & opportunities (client reviews)
  • Create & update drawings to assist with client asset management, as-built records and project sales
  • Assist with asset management, labeling, planning
  • Attend client/project sites as required to execute work, support sales or client initiatives
  • Attend regular service sales & safety meetings

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Post-Secondary degree or diploma from a Mechanical program or Technology program would be an asset;
  • Years of experience as a qualified tradesperson in the construction mechanical and/or HVAC industry may substitute for education requirements.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in Commercial and Industrial mechanical systems, and/or in a technical occupation related to HVAC would be considered an asset;
  • Previous sales and customer service experience would be considered an asset;
  • Estimating experience would be considered an asset;
  • Previous experience within the service business would be considered an asset;

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficient knowledge & understanding of organization & time management - ability to manage several projects and activities concurrently often with tight timelines
  • General knowledge of the built environment (building/facility/process) mechanical, heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical, energy systems including related standards & good practice
  • Motivated and able to work with deadlines;
  • Organization and time management;
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills are required;
  • Valid driver's licence;
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project);
