WHAT WE OFFER

Part-time | Term (Two Year) | Whitehorse, Yukon | Remote

Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 8:15 am - 4:30 pm | 20 hours per week

Additional Working Conditions: The incumbent will work from a home office with drop down desk space provided by the Yukon government as needed. Occasional travel to clinical sites in rural areas may be required.

Salary Range: As Per YHC Wage Rate

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to the Executive Assistant to the Dean, the Yukon Coordinator is responsible for day-to-day clinical placement operations within the LWYL program in the Yukon and for performing administrative duties. The position focuses on establishing mutually beneficial partnerships with health care agencies, clinical placement personnel, community leaders, non-government organizations (NGO's), partner institutions for community and institution-based practicum experiences. This position is the main communications link between UNB and the Yukon Government.

  • Act as a point of contact for faculty and students regarding any issues or requests regarding clinical access.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical partner policies to secure clinical placements for the Yukon site.
  • Manage the registration of all students and clinical instructors for clinical agency e-learning modules.
  • Liaise with clinical agencies regarding clinical placements and with other educational agencies in order to coordinate clinical schedules.
  • Ensure clinical instructors are referred to the UNB System Administrator to complete their evaluative assessments using the online assessment application Typhon. This includes ensuring that UNB has prepared each clinical course section for instructors and students.
  • Ensure clinical instructors receive their Typhon orientation, training, and ongoing technical support from UNB
  • Monitor the completion of paperwork for clinical placements as required, and ensure they are completed and returned to the appropriate administrative support staff for storage.
  • Hold responsibility for supervising compliance with the clinical placement affiliation agreements.
  • Liaise with UNB and Yukon departments/units to support program delivery, student progression, and convocation.
  • Work in collaboration with the Student Advisor and Navigator (Moncton site) towards the appropriate referral of academic advisory related concerns.
  • Assist with various quality assurance processes (e.g., admissions, university communications, progression).
  • Support the Nursing Accreditation process (nationally & provincially) and preparation of interim reports.
  • Support the preparation of required annual program reports (as per MOU).
  • Respond to general inquiries via email, social media, and telephone.
  • Assist with general administrative tasks related to the UNB-Yukon MOU such as photocopying, faxing, filing, file management, arrange meetings and make travel arrangements.
  • Attend UNB-Yukon meetings as requested.
  • Attend Faculty of Nursing Teaching Team meetings and clinical strategist team meetings
  • Collaborate with/or share responsibilities with the Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Nursing as needed.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • A Registered Nurse in good standing with the Yukon Registered Nurses Association.
  • At least two years of clinical practice experience in the Yukon.
