We are currently seeking a Financial Accountant to join our Finance team based in the Firm's Halifax, NS office.
Type of Position: Full-Time, Permanent

The Opportunity:
An integral member of the Firm's Finance team, the Financial Accountant is responsible for the preparation of both financial and non-financial monthly reports, reconciliations, and other daily duties within the Finance Department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing detailed monthly analysis and reconciliation of general ledger accounts, preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports with budget reconciliations, and compiling and reporting non-financial data for senior management on a monthly and quarterly basis.
Additionally, the role involves reconciling bank accounts monthly, creating journal entries as necessary to maintain accurate accounting records and reviewing and managing the setup of vendors in the Firm's financial systems.
The successful candidate will also reconcile provincial barrister society dues and fees to ensure accuracy and compliance, as well as donations and charitable receipts on a monthly basis. Other duties include assisting in the preparation for the Firm's annual audit, along with reviewing and posting daily disbursement sessions, including electronic data imports.
If you possess 2-3 years of accounting experience in a legal or professional services environment & have a certificate or diploma in Business Administration with a focus in accounting, we want to hear from you!
