TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Contract, Full Time

CONTRACT: Short Term Contract; Estimate Six and Half (6.5) Months

NUMBER OF POSITIONS: Two (2)

JOB SUMMARY: The role of the Radio Administrator II is to ensure reliable communications and to manage the radio and communication equipment. Manage guests staying onboard the Vessel. Communication with helicopters according to the aeronautical radio service.

PRE-REQUISITES/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 6 Months Offshore Experience
  • GOC/GMDSS Certificate
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Must pass Physical, Drug Screen and Background/Pre-Employment Screening Checks

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operation of the computerised Personnel on Board System, if required.
  • Assist with reports as required by FI and Client.
  • Monitoring communication during helicopter operations.
  • Weather Observer duties.
  • Contribute to announcements concerning helicopter operations, and other day-to-day issues.
  • Maintaining a radio watch and monitor traffic when needed.
  • Maintaining communications in emergencies by whatever methods are available; logs incoming and outgoing emergency-related communications.
  • Contributing to Maintaining Radio Logbooks required by current regulations, FI and Client.
  • Isolation of radio equipment during periods of radio silence.
  • Ensuring that the GMDSS and communications equipment is maintained in a proper manner (including equipment in lifeboats).
  • Assist with fixed radios in offices, cranes, heli tower, gangway etc. are maintained properly.
  • Assist with an inventory of handheld VHF, UHF and Air-band Radios with the related spare part stock.
  • Assisting the Helicopter Landing Officer (HLO) when required, including associated administrative duties necessary for helicopter operations.
  • Maintaining a log of all hours worked by all personnel on the Vesel via monthly report and software program OCS.
  • Performing other duties and special projects as requested by the Vessel's management.
  • Assisting the Chief Officer (CHO) and others in keeping track of cargo manifest for helicopter and supply boats during cargo operations, included Dangerous Goods handling.
  • Complying and perform all duties in accordance with the Work Permit System.
  • Following the ISPS tasks given by the Ship Security Officer (SSO).
  • Manage the allocation of beds, maintenance and update of lifeboat allocation lists or boards, after each crew change advising Client's and FI's representatives accordingly.
  • Serve as point of contact with guests, receive feedback and requests for cabin upkeep.
  • Manage helicopter check-in and check-out. Ensuring that flight passengers have been briefed regarding all helicopter safety instructions (including video) before their departure from the Vessel. Ensuring the completion of all flight manifests for passengers and freight for every helicopter flight. The RAAII will be required to establish and maintain communication with the crew of the aircraft as and when required. Administer cargo arriving or leaving by helicopter.
  • In cooperation with the Safety Officer (SFO), assist with safety inductions, including video if applicable and keeping this record up-to-date.
  • Make PA announcements concerning day-to-day issues.
  • Operate telephone switchboard.
  • Run entertainment system. Run daily updates on internal Bazeport.
  • Performing general clerical and filing work.
  • To be a part of the category management program if required.
  • The RAAII must be fully committed to work safely and to accept responsibility for the safety of fellow crew members.
  • In cooperation with the SFO, assist with safety inductions, including video if applicable and keeping this record up-to-date.
  • Assist in POB control in emergencies and during drills.
  • The RAAII duties in emergencies are laid down in the X000-307-00 FE Emergency Response Manual and stated on the X000-307-01F1 Muster List.
  • The RAAII is to carry out any lawful command as requested by Shipboard Management.
  • Assist with radio communication as ordered during emergencies.
  • Other Duties as Assigned
