Laboratory Supervisor

GEMTEC is a growing firm with offices throughout Atlantic Canada and in Ontario, and we are looking for a motivated and skilled Laboratory Supervisor to join our Team. We are seeking a full-time Laboratory Supervisor in our Moncton, New Brunswick office.

The successful candidate will have the following:

Educational & Experience Requirements:

· Civil Engineering Degree, Civil Technician/Technologist Diploma or higher in a related field.

· 5 years or more experience working in a laboratory setting.

· Knowledge of CSA Concrete requirements for laboratory and field testing.

· English or French speaking

Main Duties:

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in the following:

· Adhering to all company policies.

· Oversee and coordinate daily operations of the Moncton Laboratory.

· Perform testing of material samples, record and document test results in accordance with applicable CSA and/or ASTM standards while maintaining a high level of quality control.

· Ensure the laboratory is maintained in a clean and professional manner.

· Ensure, with the assistance of GEMTEC, that all work carried out in the laboratory is done so in a manner that is safe for all GEMTEC employees and any visitors to our laboratory.

· Work with management to ensure that the equipment and training required to effectively carryout laboratory work is present.

· Record test data and prepare factual reports, summaries, data sheets, or graphs for interpretation of test results.

· Other duties as required, including but not limited to:

o Field work during low volume periods in the laboratory.

· Maintain a "team player'' attitude with all employees of GEMTEC, assisting coworkers when needed.

Position:

· Full time (37.5 hours per week)

· Must have a valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for work related travel.

· Salary range: $39,000 - $49,000 per year
