The Senior Analyst, SCI Regulatory Reporting is a key partner in supporting Scotia Capital Inc. (SCI) Regulatory Reporting team to maintain compliance with its regulator, Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO). The Senior Analyst is responsible to assist with regulatory deliverables, including but not limited to regulatory capital calculations, financial analysis and other statutory obligations.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:


• Reporting – Daily, weekly, and monthly regulatory reports and schedules:
o Assist with Regulatory Capital for secondary trading portfolios (money market, bond, equity and FX trading) and new issue underwriting commitments in accordance with CIRO regulations.
o Assist with various Regulatory Capital schedules and associated deliverables.
o Preparation of various components of the Monthly Financial Review, including the processing of adjustments, in addition to variance analysis and trend reports and schedules.
o Prepare various weekly and monthly exception reports, trend analysis and oversight initiatives.
o Provide cross coverage as needed and participate in ad hoc projects as directed.

• Assist and support internal and external audits (i.e. KPMG and CIRO) by participating in walkthroughs and ensuring requested files are submitted in a timely matter.

• Support the Regulatory Reporting management Team
o Information gathering and analysis for projects and ad hoc requests from various internal and external partners.
o Seek to implement innovative and strategic solutions to improve operational efficiency and strengthen controls.
o Provides support and insights into SCI's weekly capital review and Monthly Financial Review.
o Oversight on SCI's general activities.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:


• University undergraduate degree in Finance and Accounting
• Broad knowledge of Bank's capital market products.
• Knowledge of prescribed CIRO regulatory reporting requirements, financial reporting and accounting procedures.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong analytical / problem solving skills are necessary.
• Ability to be highly organized, proficient at time management, work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks within tight time constraints.
• Works well independently, and in a collaborative environment.
• Industry accreditation and/or professional designation, or working towards, is an asset (i.e CSC, PDO, CFO, CFA, CPA).
