Not only is the department responsible for managing over 18,000 kilometers of provincial highways, it also manages the planning, design and construction of hospitals, schools and other government buildings.
What you will do
As a member of the Ministerâ??s senior management team, you must be a dynamic leader with strong people management skills and have experience building a high performing team of credible and trusted subject matter experts dedicated to efficiently delivering a quality program. You will lead this new division, set its vision, and integrate it within the department. Your leadership will guide strategic direction and enhance collaboration with senior leaders to improve departmental effectiveness.
Reporting to the Deputy Minister, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following responsibilities:
- setting the strategic direction for the planning, organization, and leadership of four branches within the Planning and Project Development Division: Project Management Branch, Capital Planning Branch (Transportation), Capital Planning Branch (Buildings), and Emergency Management Branch;
- overseeing the planning and delivery of capital projects to ensure alignment with GNBâ??s objectives and adherence to established guidelines;
- managing the planning, design, tendering, and construction of transportation infrastructure during emergencies;
- collaborating with branch heads to develop, maintain, and monitor projects and programs effectively;
- providing strategic advice to the Deputy Minister and senior government officials, both within and outside the department, on all aspects of the Planning and Project Development Division within the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure; and
- building and sustaining strong strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including managing federal cost-sharing funding for capital infrastructure projects and overseeing claims with the federal government under Federal/Provincial Disaster Financial Assistance arrangements.

Essential Qualifications:
- A Masterâ??s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Engineering, or a related applied science, with a minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience; or
- A Bachelorâ??s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Engineering, or a related applied science, with a minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience.
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may also be considered.
Progressively responsible experience includes:
- Eight (8) years in senior management roles, with responsibility for directing and managing large, diverse teams.
- Extensive experience in infrastructure project management and capital planning.
- Strong knowledge of government legislative and regulatory processes and protocols.
- Proven ability to build and maintain credible and collaborative relationships by effectively understanding, involving, engaging, and communicating with diverse clients and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid Class 5 driverâ??s license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick.
Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate the following asset:
- demonstrated experience working in a government setting and environment.

SALARY:
Pay Band 10: $4,917.00 to $5,409.00 bi-weekly or $127, 842.00 to $140,634.00 annually.
