Job Summary:

As a member of the Scheduling Team and reporting to the Scheduling Team Lead, this position is accountable for the day-to-day execution of staff scheduling processes and accuracy of staff schedules and payroll data for employees within their assigned departments/units.

This position provides first line support to the department managers assigned to their team, ensures that employees are scheduled appropriately, and that employee pay data is captured in accordance with established policies, procedures and collective agreement provisions.

This position supports managers by providing scheduling reports, records and statistical information. The position works autonomously and requires extensive knowledge of the organization, all collective agreements and operations of specific areas assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Post secondary education required (e.g., Scheduling Clerk Certification, courses related to Business or Health Care diploma/certificate).
  • 3 - 5 years' experience in a customer service environment.
  • Excellent telephone customer service skills are required.
  • Must have demonstrated experience resolving complex client issues.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and email required.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal is required; superior active listening and interpretative skills are required.
  • Experience in working in a unionized health care environment is preferred.
  • Employee scheduling experience is preferred.
  • Requires a high degree of customer service, problem solving, interpersonal skills and critical thinking.
  • Payroll and or Human Resource experience is a definite asset.

HOURS OF WORK: The regular hours of work for this position are intended to work every 2nd weekend in rotation, with the potential to pick up some Holiday shifts. The shifts will be 6:00am to 6:00pm on weekends and holidays.
