Job Description:

Department Overview

The Financial Crime Risk Management (FCRM) group at TD Bank Group (TDBG) is accountable for establishing TDBG's global Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Anti-Terrorist Financing (ATF) program to ensure that all TDBG businesses remain compliant with AML/ATF regulatory expectations in all jurisdictions where TDBG operates. This includes setting consistent standards across business segments that may be further tailored to specific business or jurisdictional requirements, conducting annual enterprise-wide AML risk assessments, maintaining the Global AML Policy (including Know Your Customer (KYC) and Enhanced Due Diligence on High-Risk Customers); currency transaction and suspicious transaction monitoring and reporting; screening TDBG customers against regulatory watch lists; a hierarchy of designated AML officer functions; enterprise-wide and specialized AML training of employees, and independent AML testing.

Job Description

The FCRM Data and Model Management team is a key function enabling TD's AML Program, and a first line function in the three-line-of-defense risk management model. The team consists of the following subgroups:

  • Data Strategy and Management – Focusing on three areas to make complete and accurate data available and readily accessible to all AML capabilities. 1) Define FCRM's data strategy & roadmap to enable AML capabilities at their target state and advance the roadmap via technology and non-technology projects, and operating model/governance/process enhancements. 2) Establish and execute data risk controls including reporting and escalation, adhering to the Bank's data management standards. 3) Deliver data requirements for FCRM projects
  • Transaction Monitoring Model Management – Focusing on Transaction Monitoring model performance monitoring, qualitative and quantitative tuning, and model documentation
  • Customer Risk Rating Model Management – Focusing on Customer Risk Rating model performance monitoring, qualitative and quantitative tuning, and model documentation

We are looking for a Business Information Management Specialist to join the Data Strategy and Management team, to establish a Data Issue Management process and drive day-to-day execution of the process with all stakeholders involved.

In this role, you will:

  • Design and implement a Data Issue Management process for FCRM. Gather input from stakeholders regarding SLAs and escalation protocol, socialize the process with approvers in stakeholder groups to obtain commitment to SLAs and escalation protocol
  • Design and implement metrics and dashboards to enable reporting of the state of data issue management & resolution to FCRM's oversight function
  • Lead day-to-day execution of the Data Issue Management process with stakeholders in FCRM, Data as a Service (DaaS), Technology and LoBs, ensuring appropriate priority is assigned to data issues, and high priority data issues are investigated and resolved within the defined SLAs
  • Escalate risks and issues impacting timely resolution of high priority data issues to AVP of the Data Strategy & Management team in a timely manner, propose risk mitigation and issue remediation plans; Execute risk mitigation and issue remediation activities to return status of high priority data issues to green
  • Produce monthly Data Issue Management metrics; Keep AVP of the Data Strategy & Management apprised of state of high priority data issue resolution and month-over-month trend
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of data available from upstream sources and data within various AML platforms; and data elements critical to AML capabilities
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve the Data Issue Management process on an ongoing basis
  • Keep current on emerging ML/TF trends and regulatory requirement changes, as well as the Bank's data management standards
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite

Job Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree; 7+ years of data management focused experience in an AML or Risk Management background
  • Strong in data analysis; solid understanding of how data is enabling AML capabilities, able to explain "so-what" from AML risk & control perspective
  • Advanced knowledge of common design of source to consumption data pipeline, leveraging the Bank's data lake
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management skills; Excellent at driving multiple stakeholders towards a common goal
  • Strong and demonstrated communication, writing, and presentation skills
  • Strong storytelling, slide development, and report writing skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating flexibility to adjust to changing work priorities
  • Highly organized and diligent individual with the ability to work independently and manage multiple workstreams
  • CAMS certificate is an asset
