What you will do
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Human Resources while working as a consultative partner, you will provide client-focused strategic and operational human resources services.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following responsibilities:
- recruiting;
- guiding and supporting on labor relations, grievance management, and disability management;
- interpreting collective agreements, policies and procedures;
- supporting performance management;
- conducting job evaluations and providing classification services; and
- other programs and special projects as assigned.
Work environment:
- Office location: 440 King Street, Fredericton.
- Open office layout.
- Standard hours of work: Monday â?? Friday.

- Some travel within the province will be required.

Essential Qualifications:
Pay Band 4 positions:
- A university bachelor's degree in a related field with a minimum of four (4) years of related human resources experience OR a two (2) year post-secondary diploma in a related field with a minimum of (6) years related human resources experience.
If there are no applicants with the above essential qualifications, we will consider applicants with lower qualifications and appoint at the lower classification:
Pay Band 3 positions:
A university bachelor's degree in a related field with a minimum of two (2) years of related human resources experience OR a two (2) year post-secondary diploma in a related field with a minimum of four (4) years related human resources experience.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Some positions require written and spoken competence in English and in French. Others will require written and spoken competence in English or in French only. Please state your language capacity.

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate the following assets:
- working in a unionized environment;
- experience working in a public sector environment;
- CPHR designation (Certified Human Resources Professional);
- experience in employee/labour relations;
- experience in Hay Job Evaluation Methodology.
Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

SALARY:
Pay Band 4 : $2,183.00 to $3,053.00 bi-weekly, based on 36.25 hours per week.
Pay Band 3 : $1,987.00 to $2,776.00 bi-weekly, based on 36.25 hours per week.
