Amalgamated Dairies Limited - Permanent Full-time Position

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Process Engineer will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and implementing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure product quality. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various departments to meet company goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, analyze, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance performance and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions to resolve process-related issues.
  • Develop and update process documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process flow diagrams, and work instructions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Quality Assurance, Production, Maintenance) to ensure the smooth implementation of new processes or modifications to existing ones.
  • Perform process simulations, trials, and testing to validate improvements and ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
  • Analyze production data and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track process performance and identify trends.
  • Lead process validation efforts and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide training to operators and production staff on new processes and technologies.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements to implement best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field OR demonstrable experience in process engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of process design, optimization, and quality control principles.
  • Proficiency in using process simulation software and other relevant engineering tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with various teams.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
