Demands, duties, qualifications
The Role
Reporting to the Director of Public Health for Labrador-Grenfell/Western Zones, this position will be accountable for administering, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating a broad range of Public Health Services which may include the following: public health nursing (i.e. prenatal, breastfeeding, healthy beginnings, child wellness, school health); communicable disease control (i.e. outbreak management, surveillance and control, immunization program delivery); health promotion (i.e. population health, health promotion theory and practice); and environmental public health. Responsibilities include the management of staff and resources and providing leadership to ensure services are delivered in an effective and efficient manner within a multidisciplinary, highly integrated environment. The manager plays an important role in the establishment of sustainable collaborative working relationships to enhance linkages with staff, internal programs, communities, as well as external partners.
As the organizational structure for the Provincial Public Health Program is still under development, the specific accountabilities for this position are subject to change.

Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare related field is required.
Master's Degree is preferred.
Proof of registration (in good standing) with the relevant professional body is required (where applicable).
Experience
A minimum of five (5) within the last seven (7) years of relevant healthcare related experience.
A minimum of two (2) years progressive leadership experience is required.
Preference will be given to applicants with a broad understanding of population and public health.
The successful applicant must reside in the Labrador-Grenfell Zone.
A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position
Use of a private vehicle is a requirement.
