We are seeking a Senior Developer to lead our technical teams and drive the development of scalable software solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in Java and a proven ability to mentor and guide junior developers. As a technical leader, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing complex software systems while fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.


Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code
  • Provide approval for CI/CD pipelines to guarantee smooth deployment and delivery of software applications
  • Collaborate with development teams to identify and address technical debt, improve code quality, and implement best practices for continuous integration and continuous deployment
  • Design, build and implement new Cloud services preferably GCP/Azure.
  • Analyze logs, metrics, and traces to pinpoint bottlenecks and optimize application performance
  • Collaborate with SMEs to understand Retail Banking and Mortgage trends.
  • Work with Delivery Leads and Product Owners to articulate efforts and compile estimates
  • Triage and resolve production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes to restore services and prevent recurrence.
  • Ability to break down technical information and disseminating it to senior non-technical management
  • Remain current with emerging trends and industry advancements, and champion their adoption within the team to foster a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • 6+ years of software development experience as a developer and/or technical lead.
  • 2+ years of experience with Google Cloud Platform and/or Microsoft Azure.
  • 3+ years experience developing microservices and frontends.
  • Have experience in systems design and a solid understanding of development, quality assurance and integration methodologies.
  • Experience with Spring integrations and contract design with REST API and SOAP.
  • Expertise in Java coupled with considerable exposure to front end tech stack (React/Angular/Node JS)
  • Working knowledge with DevOps tools (Bitbucket/GIT, Jenkins, Artifactory, Gradle, Maven)
  • Hands-on experience working on projects that involve Application Security like OAuth 2.0 and/or SSO using Spring Security.
  • Comprehensive experience working with SQL databases; NoSQL.
