Job Description:

The Senior IT Build Analyst, specifically the Non-Functional Tester role, tests Non-Functional requirements of applications (new, changed, and/or existing) during projects, against planned builds and/or changes. Not to be confused with Functional Testing, this role is for the purpose of validation that application changes/builds meet and/or maintain published Non-Functional Requirements through means of intrusive and non-intrusive tests. Specifically, this position is responsible for the planning, creation, execution, and signoff of Non-Functional tests from artifacts and requirements and provides an overview of these tests and outcomes to the project team to ensure test expectations are met in support of controls and Production readiness.

  • Create Non-Functional Test plans and associated test cases on a project-by-project basis.

  • Work with application SMEs and architects to understand data and Non-Functional requirements for an application and how design meets these requirements.

  • Work with Functional Test planners to identify key functional tests that can be leveraged (or created) to assist with application validation post intrusive non-functional tests.

  • Understand and document test steps as needed to prepare an environment for Failover, Negative, and Monitoring testing as needed - Schedule, conduct, and communicate outcome of tests.

  • Work with project delivery leads to incorporate schedule for Non-Functional testing inside Master Project Plan

  • Work hours for this technology is EST 9.00am-5pm and after hours if required.


EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • Nonfunctional tester 5yrs + with experience creating and conducting these types of tests from in infrastructure point of view: server Shakedown, Operability, Negative, Failover, Custom Monitoring, and Fallback/Fall Forward testing.

  • Back-end systems experience. Proficiency or a minimum of Strong hands-on experience in technologies with regards to Non-Functional testing such as: WebSphere, MQ, Linux/Unix (including knowledge of Unix commands), Network (load-balancing/F5), Windows Server, Cluster, Azure.

  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, JIRA, Confluence, Service Now, VISIO (infra diagram) 5yrs

  • Experience APIs, and how they are used with Applications.

  • PMLC 5yrs

  • Cloud 5yrs+

  • Azure 3yrs+

  • Large technology infrastructure 5yrs

  • Knowledge of Agile / Waterfall methodologies 5yrs

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to translate highly technical concepts to our partners.

  • Solid decision-making, innovation, and creativity in solving problems, resolving conflicts and meeting project requirements.

  • Flexible and able to adapt to change easily.

  • Organized, self-motivated/self-driven and goal oriented.

  • Demonstrate sound time management skills.

  • Willingness to take ownership of tasks and see them through to successful completion.

  • Degree Required: Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate

PREFERRED (in addition to 'Must Have' listing):

  • 5-7 years relevant experience.

  • Azure Fundamentals certification.

  • Excellent coaching skills with a desire to share knowledge with others.

  • Have an excellent understanding of large complex technology Infrastructures.

  • Project Management Lifecycle (PMLC)

  • Support Lean approach of metrics, visual status boards, performance dialogues, continuous improvement process
