Job Description:

The Technology Control Officer (TCO) will deliver specialized oversight, control and governance activities for the respective platforms or transformational strategic initiative. The successful candidate will be responsible for liaising with third-line partners such as internal audit and regulatory oversight enabling completion of a variety of risk and control examination programs, partnering with Commercial Platforms to determining strategies to proactively manage cyber and technology risk issues as well as supporting the effective resolution of audit issues.

Risk & Control Examinations

Preparation, coordination, and oversight of multiple control examinations (IT audits, regulatory examinations, compliance assessments, etc.) to ensure audits and reviews are completed on time. Holistic understanding of the portfolio of risk and controls, including audit, regulatory, compliance, gap assessment, self-identified findings, and understanding of remediation requirements and efforts to ensure challenges and remediation risks are understood, communicated, and addressed by technology platform risk owners. Partner with technology platform risk owners to deliver analysis and help them develop adequate responses and remediation plans, ensure identified control gaps will be properly mitigated and / or adequate remediation plans will be developed and implemented. Work with technology platform risk owners to ensure audit issues are successfully addressed and pass the various audit resolution review stages, to comply with the audit issue closure process. Proactively identify and report risks to the successful remediation of audit issues. Additionally, report timely and accurately all risk and control status.


The successful candidate is also expected to engage and provide support in other key areas the TCO will be responsible for, including but not limited to:

Maintain a strong understanding of current business and technology risks, emerging risks, and regulatory landscape.

Contribute to building a proactive risk culture through engagement with technology platform teams and partners.

Build and maintain positive working relationships by effectively communicating and regularly sharing information, issues/points of interest, learnings and knowledge with the team and other risk partners.

Work with the BISO team, risk partners and technology platforms leadership to ensure effective mobilization of teams in involved in risk mitigation or remediation programs and activities.

Facilitate the development of remediation strategies, engagement of risk partners, SMEs and development of sound risk remediation programs and approaches. Work with peers across the Bank to frame the overall approach to technology risk and management of its risk exposure

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of IT Audit or Cyber Security experience
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills specifically including the ability to present options in business terms to both IT and business staff including executives
  • University degree in computer science or related fields
  • Information security certification / accreditation: CISA required. CRISC, CISM, CISSP (an asset)
