DUTIES
Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, and working with functional experts and departmental administrators, this role will provide service and solutions to departments in the areas of employee relations, case management, developing and delivering training programs and coaching. Duties include providing support, advice and guidance to departmental managers on case management related to employee accommodations, skills development, conflict management and resolution, attendance management, including long-term disability and return-to-work, collective agreement interpretation, policy and procedures compliance, employee and labour relations issues; recruitment and selection; providing backup of task overflow to the Human Resources Administrator; assisting the manager with collective bargaining and grievance management; employee counseling; providing oversight of the upscale hiring process; job evaluation and tentative ratings; approving requests for educational credit and non-credit professional development, as well as CUPE funding support requests; providing backup assistance to the Recruitment Coordinator for leave approvals; participating and chairing committees as needed; monthly budget monitoring and performing other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience (3-5 years) in a progressively responsible nature in human resource management; graduation with a degree from an approved college or university with major coursework in human resources, labour relations, or business administration; or any combination of education and experience. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills; strong conflict management and problem-solving skills; the ability to work independently and as part of a team, the ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge and experience with Banner HR and the university's policies and procedures are assets.
SALARY: $63,099 - $86,042 per annum (Management and Professional)
