Are you a numbers guru with a passion for finance? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where your financial insights help drive business success? Our PAL Aerospace team in St. John's, NL is seeking a Finance Manager who can turn data into decisions and help us soar to new heights!

The ideal Financial Trailblazer will be responsible for managing financial planning, forecasting, KPI tracking of existing Aerospace Operations and managing key financial project implementation of the Aerospace Operations strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Budgeting, tracking and analysis to support the coordination of all business-related decisions and activities.
  • Manage and collaborate with the larger finance team to create the annual PAL Aerospace budgets and association writeup.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly reporting, including variance analysis to annual budget and forecasts for management.
  • Review of divisional statements to confirm accuracy of the results.
  • Support the completion of consolidated statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) by completing various support files following the completion of all divisional statements.
  • Review of budget with divisional managers to gain understanding of gaps between budget and expectations.
  • Input adjustments into forecast file and describe variance drivers for forecast vs budget variances.
  • Monthly and quarterly completion of MD&A and Board Reports detailing divisional and consolidated financial results compared to budget/forecast.
  • Liaison with divisional managers to provide them an understanding in how their operations are performing financially as it relates to budget.
  • Provide divisional managers and executives variance analysis in both written and verbal modes of communication.
  • Review outputs of the treasury and accounting functions to ensure outputs align to implementation expectations.
  • Assist strategic initiatives from a finance perspective including, but not limited to, acquisitions, program financial bids, post program win implementation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years progressive work experience in the area of Finance or Accounting with a Bachelor of Commerce, Business Administration or related field.
  • Professional Accounting Designation is a requirement for this role.
  • Proficiency in Accounting Software (preferably Microsoft Dynamics (GP)) used for various financial reporting functions.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting and ability to provide policy guidance on complex financial transactions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) is required.
  • Analytical skills - ability to complete in depth variance and describe the drivers of the performance of the business.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple financial projects.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
