The Janeway Children's Health and Rehabilitation is a 71 bed, tertiary care referral hospital for the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It has an active Pediatric Residency Program affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine; Memorial University of Newfoundland with most Pediatric subspecialties represented.
Job Summary:
The Department of Pediatrics at the Janeway Children's Health and Rehabilitation Centre, Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN) is recruiting a full-time Pediatric Cardiologist, effective immediately.
The ideal candidate will be Royal College certified (or equivalent) in Pediatric Cardiology. Subspecialty training is not required, but would be an asset, particularly in echocardiography, fetal cardiology, or electrophysiology. All qualified candidates will be considered. In addition, applicants should also have a demonstrated interest in both research and education.
We offer a broad scope of practice that covers in-patient and out-patient care and all facets of pediatric cardiology outside of interventional and surgical care, as the only referral centre for the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. The Division of Pediatric Cardiology is currently comprised of 2 clinicians who are dynamic, engaged, and dedicated to excellence in patient care, academic activity, and research. The Division provides cardiology subspecialty care to children and youth ranging in age from fetal life to age 18 years, and echocardiographic support for adult congenital heart disease (ACHD). Outpatient and inpatient general cardiology care is provided, and we are well-supported by our colleagues in our surgical referral centres at all stages.
The clinical role will include inpatient and outpatient cardiology services and on-call coverage.
Required Qualifications
- To be considered candidates must hold an MD
- Must hold certification by the Royal College Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent) in Pediatric Cardiology or eligibility for certification in Pediatric Cardiology
- All applicants must be eligible for licensure to practice by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of NL.
- Satisfy credentialing requirements of Newfoundland and Labrador Health services including a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check.
Remuneration
: Remuneration is competitive and in accordance with the Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Association Memorandum of Agreement and MCP Fee Schedule.
