Job Description:

We are looking for an Information management specialist that is passionate about providing a useful, working data set that will have a real impact on the way our bank uses data and turns it into actionable insights. This is an opportunity to influence data and its usage in the capital markets reporting space. A successful candidate will be responsible for understanding and standardizing large data sets for multiple consumers in the market, credit, trade reporting and trade surveillance space. Expertise in pre, or post trade, valuation and risk metric domains is an asset. As is experience in data modelling, standardization coupled with excellent communication, project and stakeholder management. Previous experience with data lakes, data warehouses or centralized data repositories is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed data analysis and research as an input to the data model for a domain or data product and map data set to data model
  • Author and peer review user stories with detailed and methodical acceptance criteria
  • Interface with users to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies and information systems
  • Investigate and analyze problems, including the use of change impact analysis on all systems and business areas in order to recommend appropriate solutions
  • Analyze source system feeds (e.g. Calypso, WSS, Murex, Summit…etc) and database results to identify implementation gaps
  • Maintain on-going communication with all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
  • Actively participate and/or manage Business Acceptance Testing and User Acceptance Testing
  • Contribute to the success of the team and its vision by encouraging open communication, innovation, teamwork and a high degree of professionalism
  • May lead, manage or coach others and influence peers and stakeholders

Other Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

  • Previous experience with data modelling, data mapping specifications, requirements elicitation and documentation is mandatory
  • Excellent knowledge of trade or pre trade data domains. Experience with risk metrics (VaR, Greeks, Stress) or payments messages is an asset
  • Able to communicate effectively and concisely with business stakeholders and developers in an Agile team
  • Proficiency in data analysis using SQL and Python. Experience with spring expressions is an asset
  • Self-starter with the ability to multi-task effectively and independently within a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to follow up on issues independently and ensure they are resolved promptly, escalating when necessary
  • Ability to gauge the appropriate level of priority and detail and/or effort required on any given project
  • Able to analyze complex issues from multiple perspectives and provide strategic recommendations
  • Able to think critically, beyond the status quo, and provide innovative/creative solutions to existing problems

Education/Accreditations:

  • A post-secondary academic degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Finance or other quantitative discipline
