Department Overview
Environment, Social & Governance Credit Risk Management (ESG-CRM) under Non-Financial Risk Management (NFRM) is responsible for the identification, assessment, remediation and reporting of ESG including climate risk within TDBG's credit portfolio. The group is accountable for ensuring that the risks associated with climate transition and climate change are incorporated into the broader assessment of how TD's credit products and exposures fit within TD's Risk Appetite. ESG-CRM provides strategic guidance, advice and independent challenge to support TD in achieving its climate risk management objectives in the broader context of meeting its strategic objectives.
Job Description
Reporting to the AVP, ESG-CRM, the Senior Manager, Climate Credit Risk will support integrating the climate risk considerations into credit processes. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment for an emerging high-profile area of focus and will be part of a learning culture where ongoing development is encouraged.
Key accountabilities include:
Collaborate with credit and credit risk functions across retail and non-retail lending business in different jurisdictions to lead the development of practical and effective approaches on embedding climate risk considerations into credit processes. This includes evolving and implementing the use cases of Climate Credit Risk analytics, and identifying gaps in the current processes and supporting business and risk partners to develop action plans to close the gaps.
Lead risk review and challenge of the ESG-related contents in Industry Risk Review;
Lead annual refresh of Climate Risk Heatmap in TD's Sustainability Disclosures, including methodology enhancements and stakeholder engagement across multiple business, risk and control functions;
Represent credit risk in industry workshops and engage senior management on key decision-making as appropriate.
Job Requirements
